  • Can I stream a film or do I have to download it in full?

    If you are watching on a Windows PC, Mac or mobile device, you have the option to stream your film. The download option is currently only available on a Windows PCs and Mac.

  • Can I stop a film and continue later from the same point I left off?

    Yes you can. You can stop a film and continue later at the same point on the same device. However, if you were not connected to the internet while watching, this feature will not be available

  • What are the technical requirements to watch a film?

    The following (or higher) are required for viewing films on Volta.
    Operating system: Windows 7, Mac OSX 10.5, iOS 7, Android 4.3
    Browser: Internet Explorer 10 (PC), Firefox 28 (PC/Mac), Chrome 35 (PC/Mac), Safari 6 (Mac).
    Adobe Flash must be installed if watching on a PC or Mac
    RAM: Minimum 4Gb
    Internet speed: Minimum 2Mbps

  • On what devices can I watch my film?

    Currently, you can stream Volta films on a Windows PC, Mac, iOS or Android mobile device. You can download a film on a Windows PC or Mac (iOS and Android coming soon). We do not support Smart TVs, games consoles or other operating systems at this time.

  • Can I watch my film on multiple devices?

    Yes you can. You can view your film on up to 3 devices.

  • Film rentals

  • How long will my rented film be available?

    Once rented, your film will be available in your account for 30 days. Once you press play, the rental period begins and you have 48 hours to watch it as many times as you like. You can pause your film and come back to it at a time that suits or if you really enjoyed it – just watch it all over again from the beginning.

    Viewing a film by streaming requires the Adobe Flash Player. If you do not already have it installed, you can download the player here

  • Payment Options

  • How can I pay for my film?

    There are two different payment methods:

    • You can pay by credit or debit card through Paypal or through Realex.

      If you have a promotional code, you can enter it at the point of payment. The promotional discount will be applied and the new amount will be recalculated automatically.

    • You can also pay for your order using a CinePass

      The CinePass allows you to purchase credit for your account. When you purchase credit in advance, bonus free credit is added to your account. You can use this credit to rent or purchase films.
