Films rentals
When you rent a film on Volta, you have 48 hours to watch it as many times as you like. You can pause your film and come back to it at a time that suits or if you really enjoyed it – just watch it all over again from the beginning.
For a rented film, the digital rights management licence you acquire is valid only on one computer. As this license is activated when you first watch the film, the same computer must be used for future viewings during the 48 hour period of that rental.
Films purchases

This option is only available to users of a PC equipped with Windows Media Player and is not currently available to Mac users.

When you purchase a film to own, it’s yours to keep forever.
To save the film that you have purchased, click on “Download the Video”, select “Save the File”, then choose the location on your computer where you want to keep your film. Once you have downloaded the whole file and played it (or even a small portion of it), this activates the license. You may activate your purchase on up to 3 computers. Don‘t worry if you lose the file, you can download it again from “My Orders” under “My Account”.
Yes, the DRM licence you receive when you download a film to own is valid for 3 computers. You can download the film on one computer, then transfer it to another computer using a USB flash drive or a DVD. To play it on this new computer, you must be connected to the internet in order for the license to activate. Your license key is available underneath the “Download the Video” button in your download History. When your license key has been activated on 3 different machines, these will be the only machines on which you can watch your film.
Volta uses Microsoft Digital Rights Managment (DRM) technology in order to protect films from piracy. To protect the films, the DRM technology embeds a lock in each video file. The content of the file is not playable or visible without the correct license key for the lock. Each licence is unique and private and is created and stored at the time of purchase of a film. When you watch the film, the Volta license key database will verify that you have the correct key for your file.
When you download a film, the video format is WMV (Windows Media Video), and the quality is comparable to that of a DVD.
