Beautifully made, artistic cinematography, great acting. It's worth watching for the colour palette alone. The subject-matter is ugly, albeit interesting and assiduous in its exploration: leaves you certain you admire the film, if slightly ambivalent as to whether you liked it.
One of the best portrayals of addiction since Requiem for a Dream. Visually stunning, thematically intoxicating, narratively compelling. Another really exciting piece of cinema from British director Steve McQueen. Definitely check it out.
