Karim Dridi directs this French comedy-drama that tells the story of struggling actor Angelo Bastiani (Philippe Ambrosini), a man who installs satellite dishes by day to fund his acting dream. At a prospective audition he meets a young woman called Concepcion Alibera (Rossy De Palma), who becomes his drinking companion. When he finds out he wasn’t successful in getting the part of a gangster he decides to take creative action, dressing up as a robber and ambushing the film’s director and casting director to prove his ability for the part. This spurs him on even further to get noticed and decides to crash a dinner party of actors and take them all hostage.

Despite its structural faults, the movie offers moments of genuine comedy, with Ambrosini well cast as the hopelessly confused Ange.
