Nicolas is a loner child, full of insecurity and routinely plagued by visions of horrific disasters and accidents. Taunted by his peers, or simply ignored by them, his teachers grow increasingly worried and frustrated by his uniqueness, a worry that is further heightened by the passive nature of his father. But things start to develop in a far more sinister way during a class skiing trip when the class bully, Hadkann takes a peculiar interest in Nicolas and his dreams. Upon Nicolas falling ill, his visions take on an extra degree of reality, and soon his nightmares turn into reality, beginning with the discovery of a murdered child in the woods. Know that there is a connection between himself and the death, he sets out with Hadkann to discover what it is.

Sensitively and elegantly made - albeit in a determinedly old-fashioned way…

...it's acted and photo-graphed with aplomb, and Miller convincingly conveys the inability of adults to communicate with psychologically distressed children.
